Half way through the week and I still have £11.19 in my purse! :j
I know that doesn't seem like much but I'm pretty impressed with myself! Before that £25 wouldn't even have made it passed monday :rotfl: even though what I did spend it on was pretty much junk, though I did buy cereal, milk, squash and 6 cans of diet coke for 2.50 (compared to 1.50 a bottle:p) for breakfast at work and have been bringing left over dinners in for lunch!)
I sorta forgot that I had ebay account til recently and I've been wrestling with the idea of selling this ring that I got from an ex (not the one who recently helped me out) because it has huge sentimental value to me but after realising that if we are not back together after 2 years, we probably never will be and keeping the ring was kind of holding onto hope for me, well I made the decision to let it go...and now have £60 in my bank account. ..not really sure if I regret it or not yet :(
    2 days til payday!

  • I think the best idea is for you to right down exactly what you spend and then you can see where cutbacks are needed. Re-evaluate where your priorities lie. I agree with you about keeping the account for your niece, that's an admirable thing to do.

Also, put in here how much you spend on that game and on what, it may make you realise how much of a waste it is when you see it in black and white.
  • Also ebay the jeans so it won't be a total loss.

Hi ems! Thanks for stopping by and reading my ramblings :rotfl: I have actually been logging my spending down, I was trying to find the perfect budget app on my phone and I must have gone through at least 20 of them but they all seemed so un-nessassarily complicated! But ive found one called personal finance which is brilliant and so simple to use! You get seperate categories for each account so now I have 4 - one for cash on hand, one for the credit card, one for the current account and one for my savings account. ..which currently has 5p in it :rotfl: ive identified so far in the last 3 days, that I spend quite alot on magazines...but im sure over the next few weeks ill see more scary stuff I waste money on! Although I've decided that on friday, im going to cut my own personal spend from 100 to 70 because tbh I dont go out very much and most of that 100 went on cigs...now im not smoking, im sure I can even manage change from that £70! I feel really happy and positive though and feel like I have a new outlook on how I spend my money! I honestly havent spent any money on my game so far this month, in fact I've hardly even been playing it, I just feel determined to get this debt off of my head and start saving...not sure what for yet but I know I don't want to spend the next 10 years working just to throw money at the wall!

  • You sound like you have turned a corner already :)
I have realised quite recently that i spend a lot on mags too (crafty ones), but have now decided to cut down to the two i subscribe to. I have to admit i get them for the free gifts, which i now have coming out of my ears!

I really hope so! But I've had these moments were I have a lbm, clear off the debts then start it all over again. ..so im REALLY hoping that I manage to stick to my budget/plans this time and stop being an idiot really :rotfl:
The magazines I buy are celebrity crap...heat, new, star, ok, closer...and really they all have the same stories so I don't know why I need them all?? Decided to cut all of them out except for closer as its my favorite one and take a break because I like doing the puzzles :P
What kind of crafts do you like to do? At least you get some free materials, so its not a complete waste of money...and some handy tips I'm sure? :)
