(For those who can bear the long read!)
Well, we've had Morris for a few weeks now. Funny cat! He is more like a dog.
Lottie hasn't particularly taken to him - but is much better than she was. She will growl or hiss if he gets very close, or raise her paw, but she is happy to lie on the sofa near him (not next to him) or in her basket which is on a sofa in bedroom with him on the top of the sofa. Been no actual fights (touch wood).
She just carries on as normal around him. I don't think she seems particularly put out, but does enjoy her purry cuddles when he's not there.
Oh well, we have him now so he ain't going nowhere! Hope she'll learn to love him!
Morris LOVES cats. It's crazy. Kept him shut in a spare bedroom for a few days, then introduced them slowly. Had swapped scents, etc. Lottie was starting to get curious and wanted to look at him. Once he clocked Lottie, that was it. MIAOW MIAOW MIAOW MIAOW. He is absolutely obsessed with cats. He follows her everywhere. If she comes into a room he gets all over-excited and makes a chirrupy noise then the miaowing starts. He tries his hardest to get near her but she's having none of it.
One of the local cats (very young) sneaks in sometimes and Morris has been over the bloomin' moon. They've played for around half hour on the stairs a couple of times.
He has been in the garden. It's quite enclosed and we're at the end of a narrow crescent so he's really not got anywhere to wander too far to anyway if he did manage to jump over a couple of fences. I thought he'd be off and away but if you call him, he comes straight back in (wow!).
He loves his food.
Is a bit of a 'bloke'! Always stopping for a scratch or lick, and in his litter a couple of times a day (BF can't believe how much his poos stink! He kicks litter all over the floor.
First couple of nights he quite literally cried all night. About two miaows a second. Tried comforting him, sitting with him, slept in other room, let him on bed, just nothing. I think he was missing someone or a cat (rather desperately!). Was very much like separation anxiety.
He sleeps on dining chair in kitchen diner pretty much all day - probably so he can see any cats that turn up to sit outside the glass door. When I'm home, he then sleeps next to me all warm and cosy all night (unless he sees Lottie then he's up).
He's not at all interested in any toys (or lasers). He just loves cats.
Anyway, BF and Lottie are taking longer to fall in love with him, but I'm smitten
Pics to follow - got to dash now.
