I was looking for concert tickets for myself and 5 friends a couple of weeks ago, and after attempting to purchase some on the day of sale from ticketmaster, I had no luck and so started to browse their secondary selling site getmein.com I found some at £90 each, not a price I was particularly willing to pay, but put them in my basket to quickly text my friends in case they wanted to pay that amount. Whilst waiting for replies I clicked on what I thought was a separate section of the website that was for registering your details, and so I did, including my card details, which I thought would be harmless, and just in case I wanted to make any future purchases. By doing this, I was taken to a screen that said my bank was processing my transaction, no 'confirm your order' screen beforehand as you would expect when online shopping, and even after immediately pressing the back button on my browser, it was too late. Within 2 minutes of this transaction I immediately rang getmein's customer services to cancel my order, who told me there was nothing they could do, other than resell the tickets myself, yet I wouldn't receive the money until 2 weeks after the event (which isn't until February). I questioned where my money is being held, as whoever is selling me the tickets wouldn't receive their money until that time too so my money hasn't even reached them yet. After speaking to a senior member of staff and emailing the disputes team, I was also told they had no guarantee that the tickets were even genuine, as they do not regulate their sellers. Also, if the seller sends me the tickets just 2 days after the event, there is only a tiny chance I would send them on in time.
I have tried contacting my bank, but unfortunately because it was a debit card payment there is nothing they can do even though it was an unwanted purchase. I have contacted ticket sales regulators STAR and ATSA, but getmein are not a member of either of these.
Just wondering where I would go from here, and who do I contact. I am not the type of person who does things like this, I am usually so cautious with anything bought online, but I made the mistake of assuming there would be a 'confirm your order' page like there usually is when you buy anything online, and if there had been, I would not have gone through with the purchase. Unfortunately now I am nearly £600 out of pocket and don't know where to go, and what my rights are, if I have any?
Sorry for the long post!:o

There is no cooling off period for ticket sales so there is nothing you can do but hope you get them. At this point no fraud or deception has taken place so the bank wont help you either.
Seems strange to me why someone would give an unkown site bank card details, feels like buyers remorse after paying to me.0 -
I knew the site, as they are owned by ticketmaster I believed they were trusted and many people have bought tickets successfully from them. I thought I was simply registering my details with them in case I wanted to buy anything in future, and as there was no confirm your order page I didn't think it would confirm my purchase. Partly my fault not reading the terms and conditions about refunds but I felt I didn't need to as I didn't intend to make the purchase.0

As said above you are just going to have to cross your fingers you get chance to sell them on, or alternatively go to the event yourself with your friends and have fun.
Out of curiosity I went on the site, picked some random tickets and, on the screen where you have to enter your details, the button you have to click to continue says 'Process Payment'. Seems clear to me unless I've missed something? :huh:0
