premier inn - children's ages

Hi,

We always automatically book Premier Inn's park and fly when we going on holiday. We are staying with them in Dec. Our booking is for 2 adults and 1 child and it is for one of the £29 cheapy deals that you can't amend.

I have just been trying to book a similar deal for next summer but when filling in the info. re . my son (who turned 16 yesterday), he is now classed as an adult and can't share a room with us!!!!!!!!!

Obviously I won't book with them for summer, but I'm now worried about our Dec. booking. If I cancel this booking I will lose the £29 that I have already paid and then I will have to pay for an alternative booking.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? What did you do?????

The booking is just for one night, should I risk it?

Any advice would be very welcome.

Thanks in advance. kje.

  • When I have been to stay at Premier inns they never ask for the ages of the children if that helps.

Although it is dishonest if asked could you not just say he's still 15 in December. Have stayed with PI a few times and never been asked for ID for the kids.

We were been in the same position last year, and there was no way my daughter was going to be in a room by herself.
When we checked in they asked how old she was so I said 15.
    (She was 15....... 15 and 396 days :o)

Now we book two rooms and my husband sleeps in the second room.

Can't say I've ever seen any
Possible in some of the places they're taken over maybe but I don't think they have in their own builds.
Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.

The only one we've ever stayed in that did was Potters Bar/South Mimms, but they can't (won't?) guarantee you'll get two rooms with a connecting door, even if that property has them.

Sometimes my husband has been just a few rooms away from us, other times he's been on a different floor (at least I can't hear him snoring from there :D )

    Hi again,

Thanks to everyone for your thoughts. Very tempted to risk it, but as we've stayed at this particular Premier Inn so many times before I'm concerned that they may have may son's details on record. I don't think we have filled in any forms for him when we've stayed there, but I can't be certain.

Can anyone whose stayed there recently with children remember Premier Inns check in procedure?

Thanks again for any help that you can give. kje.

I'm sure it'd be fine. They won't have your child's DOB recorded anywhere, they may just ask you whether he is under 16.

Could you get a second room cheaply if you don't want to risk it (or tell a fib)?

Totally agree. The receptionist won't even care. At worst you could say your hubbie intends sleeping in the car / staying with friends nearby/ just dropping you and daughter off and is just bringing the bags in.
