Hi all,
Getting my 1st laptop on Tuesday and am requesting some advice on what type of mouse i should be looking for?
It will need to be Vista compatiable, and also I have fairly large hands, so would a mini mouse be to small?
I have seen this from PcWorld and would appreciate your comments and advice.

I have already ordered a laptop case, and I believe that's all I require, unless anyone has suggestions on any other peripherals that I may benefit from.
Many Thanks in advance for your time.

The only way to decide if you are comfortable with a mouse is to use it. I have tried a few different ones and scrapped them.
You don't need to buy a mouse for a laptop as it will have some kind of pointer control built in either a track pad or a nipple some have both.
My current mouse on my laptop is this one and its ok. my previous mouse was this one again it was ok but the cable was quite short and thin and ended up breaking inside I contacted microsoft and they sent me another without problems whihc I still have. you can get cheaper mice I like to have ones that cost a little more after the older mice I have are still working eitehr on my server or my mouse I connect to a PC I am fixing.0 -
Not sure why you want a mouse, I just use the touchpad on mine, after 7 years I really struggle when I have to use a mouse LOL.
I travel a lot so I keep a few useful bits in my car like a travel charger that plugs into the cigar socket on the car. I also have two AC adaptors, one on my desk and the other in my laptop bag and I have 2 batteries for those long hard days. I just got a small form factor 120GB external Hard Drive which powers from the USB port but other than far too many laptop bags and some USB sticks for transferring info I can't think of anything else at the moment.0 -
Oh, please no, don't buy from the devil. Those ads with the silly woman and the 'amazing' tech guy who transfers all her bookmarks  to the overpriced laptop are killing me. :wall:
Now that I got that off my chest, £10 for a mouse? What a rip-off. You can buy 2 for £10. Big selection of cheap mice hereThe true cost of something is what you give up to get it.0 -

Interesting to here you get on better with the touchpad, as the reason i asked about a mouse is a friend of mine said it was much easier to get on with.
Guess the best thing for me to do is wait and give it a couple of weeks on the touchpad to see how i get on.
My laptop will have a 160GB hardrive so won't need any extra, plus i currently keep my mutimedia files on a USB stick.
I managed to bag THIS case for only £13.48 delivered and comes with 1 yrs free screen insurance direct from the manufacturers site.
So i guess that's me pretty much done..... or is it??0 -
Tried numerous over the years but have settled on a Logitech V400 Laser Mouse. It uses one AA Battery and a USB Dongle which plugs into the Mouse when not in use and acts as a switch so the battery doesn't run dead. It's nice and compact with IE forward and back buttons on it plus a scroll wheel for up/down and left/right.Cheers
