More confusion
I currently pay e-on £58 a month dual fuel, as we use a woodburner in the evenings, and am £76 in credit. I have been checking the comparison sites which tell me on my current usage (e-on provides monthly consumption figures) I should be paying £988 a year and switching to EDF would save me £75 a year. Looking into switching, I learn that EDF's first monthly bill would be £75 which is £17 more than I am currently paying. I wonder if anyone can help me to understand these various inconsistencies, because I am quite baffled.

If you use the comparison websites you must enter annual kWh consumption to get accurate results.
Try www.energyhelpline.com enter your postcode - current tariff and, importantly, annual kWh.0 -
Hi checkmate,
I agree fully with Cardew, to get the most accurate quotes, use your usage in kWh.
Also is your current account charged to accurate meter readings with us? If not pop some on and get the account up to date.
If you need your usage or any help just let me know.
