Bought leather sofa - realised it's fake

Hi all,
We bought a leather suite (sofa and two armchairs) when we bought our house in March 2010, paid using my credit card.
Only now have we realised it's not real leather as it's started to crack and one of the panels has started to fade/loose colour, and you can see the back of the 'leather' which is a fabric (PVC). We paid just under a grand for it, and they told us it was on clearance as it was the last one.
I'm assuming because it's been so long since we bought it there's nothing we can do about it?
Thanks

Was it a high street store you bought it from ?
Hi, thanks for the prompt reply.
It was from an independent sofa company not too far from where we live, not a big chain or a high street brand.
They were definitely selling it as a leather sofa because they were telling us how to treat and clean it etc.0 -

No it's not leather, it's PVC. Leather wouldn't crack like this and would last quite a while if looked after properly.0 -

Do you still have the original receipt and does this state that the suite is leather?
If so, you have a couple of choices.
You could contact the retailer (if they are still in business), and tell them about the problem and see what they offer, or you could raise a "section 75" claim with your credit card issuer.

Have you got any proof that they sold it to you as leather, such as an invoice or bill that states leather?

The invoice said Amalfi, which is basically a particular leather from the Amalfi region of Italy.0

To be honest, I don't think that will be good enough for any claim as many places sell furniture with the Amalfi name, and many of them are not leather.

I thought it would end up this way.
Was quite expensive for something that's imitation leather!0
