Couple of problems with Potterton boiler

I have a couple of problems with my central heating system. It’s a potterton supreme 80. The PCB was replaced last year.
1. I can not get Hot Water with out having the Heating on. That’s a big problem in the summer when the Heating doesn’t need to be on.
2. Over the winter the Heating would switch on, via the timer, and then stop heating after about 5 minutes. The system hasn’t gone into lock down and the room temperature hasn’t been reached. The green light on the boiler flashes but doesn’t light. The only way I could get the Heating hot would be to switch the timer off, wait 30 seconds and press boost.

hi ive had problems with my one.
our boiler was needing resetting all the time and continually switching itself off. we had the PCB replaced and it seemed to sort the problem. have you still got awarranty on your one cause it has sorted out resetting issues. as for the heating coming on with the hot water there is a valve at the hot water tank and was stuck so the hot water was going to the tank and the radiators. (i get round this by switching them all off at the thermostats) quote to fix was £115 +vat but im too grippy so will so just switch the radiators off! in my opinion its a crap system!0 -
can you see your zone valves for the system? there will either be 1 with 3 connections or 2 with 2 connections,
either underneith the boiler, under the floor (could be anywhere really)
it will be this thats causing the problem jammed or motor broken - easy fix0
