If you paid for an item you had won straight after the auction finished, when would you expect it to arrive?
For example, you paid for the item Wednesday morning?

I won an item and paid instantly by paypal on April 10th, despite emailng the seller 3 times with no reply-still no sign of it! So last night started the Item Not Received complaint procedure....I would say 2 weeks is more than reasonable (!) as you only get 3 weeks after auction ending to file the complaint.0

That is seriously taking the pee. I wouldn't expect to wait that long if I sent a cheque!"There are no pockets in a shroud..."0 -
I certainly wouldn't wait longer than about 20 days for an item paid for by cheque or 10 days by paypal. In fact with paypal if I hadn't heard anything at all from the seller after a couple of weeks I would start the chargeback process just to cover myself.
It's a bit different if the seller is at least answering emails, but not corresponding at all would worry me.

A 2 week wait is correct. The seller might have had a computer problem, gone on a sudden business trip etc. Keep sending Emails and also check if he is selling any other items "as we speak". You have this facility whereas you enter his Ebay name and finds what he is up to at that time.
I have been an Ebay buyer/seller for 2 1/2 years and have always recieved my goods ....Ooops to the exception of a book ordered and I received a VHS video...but for £1.50 I was not going to make a big fuss. Left him a nasty -ve comment though.0 -
I think it depends on whether or not they are a business or just someone selling their old stuff off. I try and have auctions end either so I can post at weekends or my days off. today I posted some stuff that was paid for yesterday. a couple of buyers haven't paid instantly - if they pay using paypal tonight I will post tomorrow afternoon. If they pay after that then they will have to wait until Friday after noon because of work commitments. However, I do always e-mail and say when things are going to be sent out.0

misty even you longest wait for posting is only three days which is very reasonable.
If I'm buying though I don't care if I am buying from a trader or an individual, if they can't post out within a reasonable time they shouldn't list stuff.
A week and a half is reasonable if payment is made by paypal and two and a bit weeks for cheque payaments, but no longer.

What is the persons feedback like? I have paid paypal before and recieved the item the next day! I would expect it to be quite quick! I would start a chargeback in paypal - you can always cancel it if you decide to and this usually kicks the seller up the bum to send the item! you don't want to lose your money so act quickly before he clears his paypal account!
You could try and pull his details and give him a ring?

7 days is fair in my opinion. I sold an item once and was struck down with a bug which meant I was housebound and couldn;t post the item. I mailed the winning bidder to apologise, and he/she was understanding. Most people don't mind small delays if giood comms is used. I always use the best comms I can at all times - Its often appreciated as much as a good quality item.

I always end my auctions on a Sunday - package the items that are paid for straight away and take them to the PO after work on the Monday. Otherwise I do a second run to the PO on Tuesday to get the remaining stuff out.
I always keep in touch with my buyers to let them know when it was posted etc. Most people seem pleased to receive items so quickly. Not buying unnecessary toiletries 2024 26/53 UU, 25 IN0 -
I give 7 days as people have different lifestyles etc and ebay is mostly a hobby. Plus you have Sunday no post day, and in some places . like where i stay the post office shuts half day on a wednesday and saturday .( This tends not to have a benefical affect on the P.O workers moods thou ) .
After that I email and then take it from there. I tend not to do chargebacks unless I have had not contact or item within 2 weeks - but im probably a bit soft there.0
