Please do not use we buy books – this company is a rip-off The reviews for 2015 on ziffit are overwhelmingly negative I dispatched and tracked my box of books early April 2015, which were safely delivered to them. Yet I have failed to receive a check payment for handing my items in. It has been more than a month they still have not paid no contacted me about the box of items.
When contacting them, the company said that there was an error. And they had lost all of my account details. The company has not offered me a solution to my problem and they still have not paid me. It is now the 23 May 2015. Avoid this company, they provide extremely poor customer service, and have not offered a sincere apology.0 -
Ziffit refused to pay for a book that was in perfect condition and had never been read saying that the pages were marked. This was completely untrue. And, yes it was the highest value book that they rejected, not one of the lower value books. It's a perfect scam really as they keep the book and so you can't prove that they are lying.I tried emailing about it but all I got was a 'cut and paste' reply directing me to the Terms and Conditions.0

With regards to the above posts discussing ZIFFIT.
Are people aware thet the same company run ABEBOOKS and WORLD OF BOOKS as well as WORLD OF RARE BOOKS all from the same address?
Amazingly (NOT) a book which was rejected from a trade my daughter submitted in N0vember 2015 as being damaged. Found its way into the RARE book section and is for sale at £14.50. I know the book is the same one as the damage quoted by ZIFFIT is due to fraying at the base of the spine of the book, in exactly the same place. Additional to this the book is forty years old. I am fifty five and believe me I fray at the edges as well.0 -
I had the same issue with 'We Buy Books'. A book which was not at the bottom of the box was listed as water damaged - which it wasn't when it left my house - yet none of the others were, and the 'damaged' one was by far the most valuable.
I've sent off a Ziffit parcel this week, so we'll see!
I'd suggest only sending books to these companies if you were otherwise just going to send them to the charity shop...0 -
I think I have been fortunate with these companies. I have sent loads of boxes to webuybooks/Ziffit/Music Magpie over the last couple of years and only had one book go missing and nothing has been marked down. I have been happy with the prices too as selling the same items on ebay or Amazon would not have been worth it with the fees etc. I do try and keep the size of the orders small so the person is less likely to miss a book and it is not so awful if I box did go missing.0

Just today at Ziffit I entered the numbers of some expensive books on Chinese ceramics - these books are for sale at Abebooks at £40 - £120 each - I was offered 30p!!!0

Why not take pictures of your books so when ziffit says there damaged least youll have proof there not and ziffit wont be able to get away with this any more0

Provided the photo is dated, this isn't a bad ideaIf you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -

It would be evidence rather than proof, it could be a different copy of the book or a photo taken before damage occurred. It's a reasonable thing to do but not foolproof.0 -
Ahem, this is a four-year old thread!!!0
