Road sign shows my numberplate

As above, I was driving along, speed limit 30, I was probably doing 38, a road sign flashed with my number plate on it. There were no roadside speed camera warnings, though there must have been a camera somewhere. Are these connected to a central control somewhere and am I likely to get a fine in the post?

These are just standalone warning devices, not type approved for prosecutions. Ironic username...

Did you not bother to read the post above? They can't prosecute from them.

Here's hoping the sign has the intended effect. The old '30 for a reason' advert comes to mind:

I passed one a few days ago. I think they exist just to show how easy it is measure your speed and identify you, and to remind you that you, personally, are speeding.

I agree - 'shocker tactics' to show how easily you can be identified.

They have these around wolves. They show you the driver that the camera is aware of your speed. Obviously works because of your post. But you wont be punnished this time.

Only at 30 MPH, most areas now prosecute at speed limit plus 3MPH following test cases.
Luckily, it was just a warning device.
    Be happy...;)

The car park at the O2 has just been upgraded and now prints your reg number on the parking ticket.

Not sure what this does for them, but it's pretty clever technology.

Can we please stop this myth right now? I was given a £60 fine and 3 penalty points for doing 33mph in a 30 zone.
