Counterfeit £2 coins

Probably not the right place to put it, but I was annoyed today to find a counterfeit £2 coin in my purse. My son noticed it because it's magnetic, and when I accidentally dropped it on the floor it fell apart. It's made from a 2p coin with the back of the £2 coin on it, and the front and sides is pressed so it all fits very snugly together. Whoever is doing this must be churning out thousands of them because it's very professionally done.
I'm annoyed because it means I'm £2 out of pocket
and that's not very money-saving.

Oh that's a b*mmer.
I give the £2 the evil eye whenever I get them in change since I once got a £2 look-a-like which was from some Middle Eastern country. I spent that back at the same supermarket that had given it to me in change.
Millions of fake £1 coins are circulating, too.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Just seen this thread. We save any £2 coins we get in a tin - I've just been and checked them all visually and with a magnet. Thankfully, no dud ones in there. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
