I have a old debt from NRAM years ago that I got a CCJ for (i think 2009). They then tried to take me to court to get the debt secured on my house which I managed to avoid.
I offered them a sum of money which I thought was a 'in-final' settlement, this was about 2 years ago - it was all done on the phone.
I received a letter today informing me that £2200 debt is being transferred to Marlin Europe V. I phoned NRAM and told them I thought we settled this debt 2 years and furthermore, why hadn't I heard from them for 2 years - I asked 'Have you ignored our verbal agreement and then constructed a higher debt though non-communication using time to incur interest?'. Due to not being able to get through their security (answering questions related to how I was paying this when it was set up, i guess about 7 years ago) I had to write to them. Could someone help me?
Thanks

They seem to be popular at the minute:

Advice is yo get settlements in writing for reasons such as this.
You will have to write and complain that the debt was settled as far as you were concerned.
Preheats it dhow on your credit file? The outstanding balance bit and whether satisfied.:beer:0

Hi. I have had an NRAM debt transferred to Marlin Europe V. I would like to change my current Standing Order from NRAM to Marlin Europe V WITHOUT having to contact them. CAN ANYONE TELL ME THERE ACCOUNT NUMBER & SORT CODE?? I have tried on internet but failed. It must be Marlin Europe V - apparently there is l, ll, lll, lV, etc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.0

 Hi
I am in the same position, I have found some details on marlinfinancialgroup.com this does give details of standing orders etc on forms and mandates under make payments. HOWEVER I have written to them to make sure. I also have stated we only deal with these matter in writing. I also clarified the last payment date to NRAM.0

Write to them and tell them that if they would like yo be paid you need their details to set up a SO.
If they refuse, complain in writing.:beer:0

Don't make my mistake and set up a new SO to Marlin, stupidly thinking that the NRAM SO was cancelled! It came out yesterday, Natwest didn't inform me that 3 working days notice is needed when I cancelled it online. The Marlin payment is due to come out tomorrow too, I cancelled it on Friday, fingers crossed it doesn't come out Life is like a camera... If you call Natwest they can be reasonable if you explain your mistake. I did that a couple of months ago when I changed jobs and my payment date changed. I forgot to change one of my standing orders. It obviously failed to go through but they did not charge me as I had called as soon as I realised and they could see it was an honest mistake. Certainly worth a shout!0

I phoned early on and the idiots had sent the letter out before having had any customer details transferred over. Anyhow, they called back and the details I was given are 20-98-74 80545007 and you use the 6 digit reference from your letter.0
