Bit complicated - any expert advise?

My daughter will be going BR next week.
At the moment she is in receipt of JSA and living in London with me so all paperwork is done on this basis.
In December/January she wants to move in with her b/f who lives in another part of the country. He works full time, getting about 800 per month, rents a small flat, does not claim any benefits himself.
Based on his income, my daughter will not qualify for JSA when she moves in with him.
Obviously, when the move happens, she will have to notify the OR - no issue here.
BUT - with no income of her own, what SOA will she submit then?
Till she finds herself a job in new place, I am happy to pay her share of bills/rent/food myself but how do we account for that on the new SOA that will have to be done when the move happens? "Supported by parent"?
Can anyone advise please?
Thanks a million...

The form has an "other income" box if I remember correctly, with space to explain.
However, if they explain to the OR the situation then they may not require a resubmitted SOA until there is actaully any income of her own to assess.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Thank you very much Fermi.
I like to plan tings way ahead so you put my mind at rest with this issue.
I do not suppose the OR will want to know anything about the boyfriend and his income as the BR will be done before they live together?
I mean, the b/f can not be involved in my daughter's BR as all debts happened before they met.0 -
It's not really complicated - she's simply not working and has no income, hardly an unusual situation e.g. a stay at home parent.
I would tick the 'unemployed' box and enter zero for income.
In section 6.7 about contribution from other household members, just enter the full amount of all the bills.
In 7.1 it breaks down all the domestic costs - I would assume her contribution is zero for all, as it specifically states: "How much do YOU spend each month on the following:-".
There is a section at the back of the SOA if you want to clarify anything.0 -

As long as they have had no joint debts or shared assets (e.g. a house), then the boyfriend's status is irrelevant aside from his contribution to the household bills. He could be a millionaire living in a mansion, but it's really none of their business.0 -
Thanks so.. if I understand correctly:In section 6.7 about contribution from other household members, just enter the full amount of all the bills.
In 7.1 it breaks down all the domestic costs - I would assume her contribution is zero for all, as it specifically states: "How much do YOU spend each month on the following:-".
That would be 50% the b/f and 50% me (parent).. right?
I sure will have more questions when the move happens, right now we are at the stage of heading to Court Mon or Tue next week to sort of the BR to start with... sigh..
Thanks again.0 -
So are you asking what to put on the form 6.28 SOA for the actual BR hearing (London)?
Or what to put when she moves after being BR some time, and can no longer have JSA as an income?
I assumed the latter in my previous answer.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

The latter Fermi, as per my original post.
As the BR will happen next week, in London and based on the current circumstances as they are.
Later on, when the move happens - was wondering about then but I guess I got the answer now so thanks a lot.
Will no doubt have another million questions as we go through the process so thanks again.0 -
Hi getting ready,
Is your daughters boyfriend over 25? If so he might qualify for tax credits as he will be supporting your daughter on such a small income! It's also worth putting a claim in for housing benefit/ council tax support, even a few pounds will help whilst your daughter looks for work.
H x0 -
Thanks. They are both under 25.
And they do not want to claim HB - I will help them out but wanted to know what the legalities/practicalities are.
Especially if my financial help may be seen as my daughter's income for the OR purpose as far as new SOA will be concerned?
I would obviously need to transfer the money to her bank account on a monthly basis so need to know where do we stand with that.
Thanks again.0 -
Ok - me again....
Daughter moved in with her b/f Dec '13 and today got an email from someone from her OR office with some forms to fill in.
Basically a SOA.
Daughter not working since she moved there (small place, jobs very difficult to get in the best of times and now out of season next to impossible), b/f pays all the bills/food etc.
They are both still under 25 - daughter 23 and b/f 22.
I sometimes transfer some money to daughter's account to help out but she has no income of her own.
Does the advice above still stand?
List the bills and put her income as zero and her contributions as zero? Should she put her b/f income somewhere there? He had no connection to any of the debts she went BR for on 29th October.
She was on JCA while living in London with her JCA claim closed 3rd December 2013 as this is when she moved in with her b/f. She is not claiming anything there.
Thanks a million for any useful advice0
