Paypal fees query

Sorry if it's obvious but I can't seem to find how I can get a breakdown of the fees that I pay to paypal. There is a dd deduction on my bank statement of just under £45 to paypal & I imagine this is for fees & I just wanted to check that what I am paying them is correct.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

Paypal take fees off the funds you receive and give you the rest, they don't take fees at a later date like eBay do. That is more likely to be a payment made for something via Paypal. Log on to your account and have a look at your latest transactions.

As lovinit says, fees are taken at source. Could this be your eBay fee invoice?

No, not an Ebay invoice as my last one was for £80+. Perhaps I need to ring my bank tomorrow to ask them for full details of payment.

Can't think of anything I've bought recently & paid for via Paypal for that amount & the fact that it has DD by it is confusing.

Also, can't see anything on Paypal relating to this payment, so again this is confusing.

They can take some of your Paypal balance and apply to your bank for the difference to make up the invoice. If you check the payment of your fees in Paypal and click on 'details' it will tell you how the fee payment was made.

Thanks to all who offered advice. RFW hit the nail on the head as I phoned my bank earlier who advised me to phone Paypal to query where the payment had gone.

It seems they did exactly what RFW describes, and it was only after I was told by Paypal advisor to click on the details section for most recent Ebay fee payment that I had paid that it showed up that only part of the payment was met from my available funds & the rest of the monies as Paypal payment direct from my bank account.

In the olden days, before commission was paid on p&p, I always had enough funds in my paypal account to meet Ebay's fees, so never come across this before. :(

Oh, yes - the good old "olden days"

when good ebayers only charged 10p over the actual cost of postage - you will not find an e-bayer on this planet doing that now, since e-bay got greedy.
Looking forward to the day I have nothing left to list on eBay
