Help needed please. I uninstalled Norton Anti Virus, or so I thought. However, I am trying to install Kaspersky anti virus and getting a message saying cannot complete installation because Norton is still there. Tried add/remove programmes and message there is "unable to locate installation log file 'C:\programme files\Norton Anti Virus\nov 95 isu' . uninstallation will not continue." Sorry if this is a bit long winded, but I'm not very "techie".
Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. Joan.

Did you just uninstall it or did you use the removal tool from the symantec website? (you're meant to use the removal tool btw)"She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

No, I just uninstalled it. Should I go on Symantec website then? Thanks.0

Thanks Donnie,
Sheer laziness I didn't look for and post the link."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Thanks for that. Used it but Norton's still there in add\remove programs and still getting same message. .Joan

Have you rebooted since using the tool. If that still doesn't work I'd advise using the tool again in safe mode (press F8 at boot up)."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

not with norton but i have had similar probs with it saying it is still there. What i usually do if use the search function and search for norton in that and as long as you have no need for norton on your comp delete everything it finds and then reboot. I think some programmes leave prefetch files behind and this can cause problems0

If you go to start menu>all programs>Norton Antivirus there should also be Norton Anti virus Removal (may be worded somewhat differently) you will have toi remove it that way rather than just add/remove programs.0

Thanks everyone for your help. Tried all your suggestions. Unfortunately, the problem is still there. Have got to leave it now for a while but will try again later. Thanks again. Joan.0

have you tried uninstalling or aborting the kapersky install and re-install Norton then restart PC then uninstall norton using the Norton removal tool then restart PC and then install kapersky, as it may be a iffy squiffy Norton install or half uninstalled, so a reinstall may work.0
