Question For Those With a Royal Mail OBA....

I have been using OBA since April. Really pleased with it, I have had one loss that I can recall and that was more than made up for by the savings I make on parcels going by average weight rather than size!

In fact my losses have decreased, but I have a feeling that's more to do with ditching a few lines of items in a certain category which I was selling and seemed to attract lots of trouble!

Thanks - certain categories do seem to attract high levels of 'customer dissatisfaction' (whether deserved or not), don't they? But I guess that's a whole new thread!

Thanks for all the feedback - lots to take in! I was given a quote for the Tracked service, but like lovinituk I have such a variety of sizes that it wasn't financially viable on the number of parcels I currently generate.

Custardy - my worry isn't that RM would lose more 24/48 post; more that without a signature or tracking it does leave you more vulnerable to scammers claiming INR when in fact delivery has been made. It's interesting (and heartening!) to hear that this doesn't appear to be the case.

The funny thing is,I bet a lot of recipients wont notice/see the difference between 24/48 & Tracked 24/48 given the labels are similar

Another thing to consider is the use of fake tracking barcodes. I have used them for some time now and I know lots of other sellers that use them too. Certain post office and RM staff will say they are not allowed and post won't be processed with them on but I have so far sent tens of thousands of items with them on with no problems. I believe they have had a small impact in reducing false claims by buyers but our INRs are so low compared to our volume that I can't be accurate on figures.
