Switching provider
I presume there will be lots of people that have done it so whats the process for switching supplier?
I've found that if i switch to Marks and Spencer Energy from British Gas i can save nearly £100 a year.
So whats the process?
Do i need to tell BG i'm leaving?
My gas and Elec are both in credit, does that mean they will take what they need to take up to current usage and refund me any difference?
Advice appreciated; its a bit of a minefield all this stuff!
Thanks

Switching is only a minefield if one of the companies messes things up. You apply to the company you want to move to and it informs your existing supplier. You should then be told your switching date which is usually 3-5 weeks after the application. The switch should still go through even if the product is subsequently withdrawn. If going to M&S energy you should apply to M&S energy through Topcashback or Quidco which offer £23 single fuel or £46 dual fuel cashback. If you have a surplus with your existing supplier it should refund you after the switch.0

Thanks for the info - particularly that about cashback.
M and S are offering £20 worth of vouchers; do you know if these are still given if going through a cashback site?0 -
Yes, you get the vouchers as well.0
