Is it possible to combine limits of two Barclaycard

Options
I have a platium purchase barclaycard. Its promotion rate will end soon, so I paid off the balance recently. But I have about 7000 pounds on another credit card which I would like to balance transfer. After checking the terms of freedom balance transfer barclaycard, I noticed that it only requires "Who have not applied for a Barclaycard in the past six months". It seems that one can hold two barclaycard, one platium and one freedom. So my question is if I apply and get accepted by freedom balance transfer barclaycard, will it be possible to combine the limits of two cards? Or will barclaycard automatically decrease the limit of my existing paltium card? It will be greatly appreciated if someone with relevant experience can shed a light.

    It can be either.

I once had a Barclaycard Visa. I then applied for a Barclaycard Mastercard to separate spending (personal/business). They split the credit card limit between the two.

I had those cards for a number of years - both have had credit limit increases since then, and the Barclaycard Visa turned into a Platinum one.

I then applied for the Barclaycard One Pulse card (it was one of the first cards to offer contactless and it had an Oyster facility as well - a form of contactless payment for transport in London).

I was expecting them to swop the Platinum Visa card to the One Pulse, but the One Pulse arrived separately with its' own credit limit.

Barclaycard can be very inflexible, in my experience
but, sometimes, they can be very very helpful.
you need to talk to them, and cut through India to someone in Teeside.
i am actually waiting for a call back today to discuss the "re-alignment" of my credit limits between two cards:coffee:

I closed both my barclaycards (one was formally egg) a couple of days ago but before I did they offered to transfer the much higher credit limit to the lower credit limit, before they realised I wanted to close both that is. Anything is possible, just ask them nicely :)

I told the guy who answered my phone that I wanted to transfer about 7000 pounds. I was immediately offered 18 months 0% interest with a 2.9% fee. I said I wanted freedom BT card which offers 27 months 0% with 2.49% fee. He confirmed that you can apply for freedom card while holding a platium card. He saw no problem in combining the limits if my new application is successful. He also said that I am welcome to come back to take the 18 months offer if my new application is not successful. So I guess I have nothing to lose and will apply for a new freedom card next week. Thanks a lot for all your advices.

don't use Barclay card because its too unflexible

at one stage i would have very much agreed with you. but not now..they are second only to MBNA for BT flexibility for me nowadays.

currently Spend with Amex and Barclaycard

    and

currently Borrow with MBNA and Barclaycard
