Cost of a dropped curb in Hertfordshire?

Does anyone have any idea of the typical cost of having a curb dropped for house in the Hertfordshire region? I know its a bit like "how long is a piece of string", but just want to know if its £500 or £5000 or realistically around £1,000?
I want to create a carriage drive way and already have one side of the house's curb dropped but the other side is within a recently introduced residential parking bay. Both neighbouring houses have a carriage drive way and have a white line ensuring nobody blocks the entrance to the drive within the parking bay.
Council said it would charge circa. £85 for a surveyor to visit but gave no indication of cost.
Thx.

when did the other properties install the carrige drive way?
looking at the current Hertfordshire requirements

your application would be refused on 2 grounds. (see below for quote)
but if they did give the go ahead the cost could be quite high, as you would need to pay for an extra on road parking space to be created, to replace the bay you remove and that includes a lot of red tape.
A
dd to that the typical dropped curb cost of £1300 (where I am) and you could easily get up to £3k, if you get permission at all.
"If there is a parking bay,bus stop or lay-by at the proposed access point of the property this willnormally result in your application being refused. "
and
"If your property alreadyhas vehicle access you will need to demonstrate that the second access will addto the overall safety of the current vehicle access already in place for youand other road users."

I'm about to Complete on the purchase of the house so I'm not exactly sure when the other neighbours had a carriage drive. I'll have to get the council surveyor to let me know the details

Just had more information on this. Apparently its not a resident's parking bay but a "park for 1 hour for free and no return" bay. Do you think this changes things?Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0
