What is the best lifetime pet insurance company to use?
How much Yearly cover for a Cocker Spaniel?
Which company would you recommend?
Which ones to avoid?

The best always PetPlan - if you can afford it.
No idea about individual quotes, you need to check this yourself as depends on where you live etc
Again PetPlan.
Animal Friends - avoid at all cost, they simply do not pay out most of the time0 -
I'm with petplan for our Springer.
The reason why I've stuck with them is my vet is happy to deal directly so all I need to pay out is the excess each year. Might be cheaper to go with Argos, Tesco or others who offer pet insurance but it means paying out and then trying to claim the money back later.
My dog has a skin problem we believe is due to an allergy to something. Last year the bill was in excess of £400 to control it and next week we are going for allergy testing which is no doubt expensive. If I had to pay up front for all of his treatment then claim it back I would never have been able to afford it.0 -
I'm with Petplan too. For the same reason as above - we don't have the money to pay out up-front and then claim it back on the insurance. If anything happened to Ted and he was put through unnecessary suffering due to my lack of funds, I would hate myself.
I took his insurance out a couple of months ago when he was about 15 weeks old and had had his jabs/microchip done. He's a Jack Russell cross and it costs me just under £24 a month for lifetime cover, £7k per year per condition.DMP Mutual Support Thread member 244
