Morning all,
off to the hairdressers for my cut and colour - perhaps I need to find out what my colour is as she doesn't highlight any more, so I could colour it myself. I seem to be between shades though - maybe a wig would be the way to go (saw Joan Collins on the One Show last night).
DH had a nasty dental treatment yesterday and has 2 more before he gets his shiny new tooth - the original broke in a rugby game 30+ years ago and the crown .... sorry, I'll stop as TMI.
I'm pottering round tying up odds and ends on the Probate stuff, now he has got the bulk done I'm on loose ends duty. Today I'll be costing the extra words on the headstone - with perfectly arranged hair.
Dinner is the beef he could not eat last night with mashed root veg and some supermarket Yorkshires that were lurking in the freezer.
Have a great day xI can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Morning all,
Well I'm still wheat free and feeling so much better. Think this is going to be a life long thing for me, I should have done it years ago.
It's like I'm learning to bake all over again. This morning I will be experimenting with cake and biscuits without Gluten. I want to make a chocolate cake. That was something I just couldn't eat before without being really ill so I shall have a piece after tea as a little experiment.
Went to see my son yesterday, he is really not enjoying his job and I don't want it to lead to another bout of depression. We are working through it with him to try and think of something else he can do where he is out and about, it really doesn't suit him being in an office all day.
My DD is busy packing up. Who knew you could fit so much stuff in a tiny two up two down:eek:
My youngest boy had a letter home from 6th form with a review of how he's doing. It's better than I thought actually but I still think he needs to do more revision at home. Hopefully he will do.
My oldest son is loving being a daddy:D
Looking forward to a nice quiet day, to recharge my batteries.
Have a great Thursday xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Hi all,
Late posting today because I had a very bad night - my ear was really hurting and not helped by painkillers so I didn't get to sleep till after 4am, so I think it will be a quiet day for me. DS' Gf has texted to say would i buy them some cat food and take it round to feed the cat. I'm not normally a cat person but Tibs is the sweetest little thing, I'll probably stay with her a while because they work such long hours she's often by herself for over 12 hours a day.
Donny-gal, our poodle who died in August used to talk, she would lie on DH with her head on his chest, gazing up at him adoringly and they would have long conversations.
Julie67 I hope your son gets something better quickly, it's horrible when you see them suffering and can't do a lot to help.
DH will be late tonight and will have eaten so I need to find something to eat myself. Maybe eggs. Apart from that I shall be lazy because I'm still not feeling 100%. I started sorting through some of the boxes we brought down from the loft so I might continue with that and also some sewing.0 -
SUMO - Shut Up Move On (I had to google it)
I'd love to see a video of Skye "talking" - my Black Lab friend Jessie does that; I can have very meaningful conversations with her!:D Ruby just stands there with her tail doing a fair impression of a helicopter rotor!:rotfl: Glad Skye's tummy is improving.:o
GWS vibes for all who are not up to par today - Luxor I hope DH's visits to the Fang Farrier go well, and the outcome is all good. Mr LW has to go this afternoon (he's wfh, on early shift today) but it's only a check-up, so nothing to worry about. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Morning all,
bright sunny day here. Bedding is stripped and in the washer. Need to vacuum throughout today but that can wait.
I really need to stick to my usual eating patterns as i'm all over place having hubby home.
I'm hoping he's forgot about going to the garage today. Still, ive got the garden centre to look forward to if he doesn't. :-D
Beef for tea. Might do roast potatoes. That will please 'Youngest', he had mash last night which didn't. Still, it makes a change from [STRIKE]babyfood[/STRIKE] mash.

Good afternoon everyone :j
It's a beautiful day here today and I'm stuck in waiting for a man from the council to come and look at our roof as there is a leak. I was told that he'd be here early a.m. but there's no sign of him yet . Ah well, I've managed to catch up on some housework and internetting so I can't really complain.
DD13 is making cottage pie in school so I don't even have to make tea. I shall really enjoy the evening off. My eldest DD rang me yesterday to tell me that her ex is now having a baby with the woman he left her for. She said she wasn't even upset, just relieved it wasn't her. They will have 5 children under 6 yrs now between the two of them, I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy :rotfl::rotfl:Oh well, I hope it all goes ok, she seems like a nice woman and she is very good with my grandchildren, him....not so much lol.
Sorry to read about everybody's troubles over the past couple of days. Sending you a big hug if you would like one. I'm ok, just chugging along really. My eating is back under control so that makes me feel happier anyway.
Well, that's all my chatter for now. Take care.
Cheers m'dears x0 -
On the subject of dogs talking, Bramble purrs! When he gets lots of fuss he starts doing his own version of purring. Him and that cat are becoming a fusion of cat/dog between them!0

Lovely here again today and all the washing dried on the line yesterday :j so I have finally done the last load and that is nearly dry.
Had to nag DS to get off his expletive deletive ps3 to weed and tidy the front garden for me, and much moaning and groaning later it looks so much better, it only took him an hour.
Not getting on too well with the new crutches, I found it very difficult doing the shopping today because I am literally velcroed in to them, I had to keep asking DH to get everything, which is really frustrating. To top it all yet another smart alec shouting are you going skiing that joke is getting very old very very quickly grrrrr.:mad:
The one good thing about them is that the sheepskin keeps my arms nice and warm.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Julie, I've had it recommended that Doves WF/GF bread flour is better for baking than the SR & plain flour, they do a GF baking powder too. Apparently it is less "gritty" which DH complains of when I bake for SiL!0 -
Thanks floss, I made a cherry cake with the all purpose flour turned out ok, I think the texture takes some getting used to but not bad at all.
I also made ginger biscuits which are nice but a bit crumbly in texture, so I will definitely pick up the bread flour.
That's as far as I've got before I had to rest my legStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.
