Travel agent

Hello,

Need some suggestion on what to do...
Situation went on holiday used travel agent abta covered who booked rooms through a non covered company. Got to hotel it was a dive went to a better hotel. Got back to uk and complained after two moths got reply from agent who have said that the hotel have not supplied a response to their company and as such offer a good will gesture of £147 not the full amount of the hotel cost £500. I remember paying by credit card however they don't have any ideas of the transaction otherwise I would do a sec 75 claim nor does my regular bank have details of payment. Before you ask yes I did go on holiday.

The thing being what should I do where do I stand abta have said my contract is with the travel agents contract to their company where I believe that the travel agent is the contract holder..

I'm hoping someone out there can HELP

Did you contact agent when you were away and make complaint/ask them to move you?
What were the reviews of the hotel?

It is no use complaining when you get home, you should have contacted either the agent you booked through or the company they used to book the hotel, there is always a telephone or email address on the voucher and there is very little that can be done when you get back. It sounds as though the flights and accommodation were bought separately, your contract is therefore not likely to be with the agent but the hotel company. Not sure s 75 will help as technically you paid an agent you did what they were asked to do, i.e. make the booking and pay the supplier, there is therefore no breach of contract. If your card was debited by the hotel booking agent rather than your agent, you might have a better chance.
