Some advice please. Fixed a few days ago to npower march 2017 for elec only now I see npower dec 2017 available which also seems according to energy club to have no daily standing charge compared to the march deal which in an email today seems to have a daily standing charge.
I am totally confused now as to which deal is best and whether if the dec deal is better I can change.
I would really appreciate some advice
Thanks

Wow it's actually cheaper than the variable tariff, and only 13% more than Price Fix April 2015 (electricity only). No exit fee either.
It'll work out cheaper than Price Fix April 2015 in the long-run if prices rise by over 8.5% on an annual basis.0 -

Could you link to both plans? It seems much more expensive for me than the March deal.0 -
The OP is talking about electricity only. The difference is less than 2p per unit. To cost an extra £20 per month you would have to be using 14,000 kWh of electricity per year. Percentage wise the difference is only 11% above the Mar 2015 fix - not a bad deal for two and a half more winters. And a quarter cheaper than today's no standing charge tariff from Ebico.ptrichardson wrote: »Could you link to both plans? It seems much more expensive for me than the March deal.0 -
Both tariffs have a £42 standing charge but they also both have a £42 direct debit discount. Some summaries mischievously list this as a £0 standing charge. Unfortunately this confusing presentation seems to be mandated by the idiots at Ofgem.Little_Angel wrote: »Some advice please. In my region the difference in price per unit is 1.7p - I would say one winter paying an extra 1.7p is easily outweighed by the following two-and-a-half winters at the same price. L[STRIKE]onger fix seems unbeatable (electricity only)(probably).[/STRIKE] Seems a decent gamble well worth taking (ymmv).0 -
I think I have confused some people.
I am not talking about the March 2015 deal but the original March 2017 deal which no longer is available. They now have the December 2017 deal. If I am fixing to 2017 it would seem sensible to fix until december rather than MArch.
I am just wondering if I am missing something.
Thanks,

Oops, sorry. In my region, yes, the December 2017 has both a lower standing charge and a lower cost per kWh (for electricity). The March 2017 does have a higher standing charge (£85 odd reduced to £42 compared to £42 reduced to £0).Little_Angel wrote: »I think I have confused some people.

So you probably are not missing anything.0 -
I went with npower March 2017, the Dec 2017 works out £57 more for me, my unit rates for march compared to Dec 2017 all Elec on Economy 7 are as follows:
Standing Charge
24.245 pence per day - 12.947 pence per day
Day Unit Rate
18.501 pence per kWh - 19.898 pence per kWh
Night Unit Rate
5.775 pence per kWh - 6.300 pence per kWh0 -
Bizarre. In my region the December fix is cheaper than the March for E7 too. I thought for a moment it might be only the standard electricity that would be like that since they could balance that with gas as most would be dual fuel. But that is not the case.NittyGritty wrote: »I went with npower March 2017, the Dec 2017 works out £57 more for me, my unit rates for march compared to Dec 2017 all Elec on Economy 7 are [...]0 -
