Advice on mid range tablet

Hi folks. I'm looking for a tablet for myself that I can use to browse the web and watch videos/tv catchup/iplayer and play games. I've tried a lot of the low end tablets which seem to be rubbish so I'm willing to go a bit upmarket for a decent brand and pay no more than £250.

I've contemplated the iPad however the lack of output without using expensive proprietary equipment puts me off. Suggestions would be most welcome :money:

I have narrowed my search down to a galaxy tab 2 or the asus transformer. I'm siding more towards the transformer, the idea of the optional keyboard which adds extra battery life sounds more appealing. Does anyone have experience with either or any recommendations?
