Which Calculator?

Which calculator is the best one to go by, only the entilted- too calculator says a lot more than the tax credits do I qualify site. I know this site gives only part of the year but even taking this into account it is still a lot lower.

The Do I Qualify site is much more accurate for Tax Credits as it's run by the DWP.

Thats not good news for me then. works out a difference of £20 per child ( got 2) and another £30 WTW. Big difference.

P.S. I thought it was the inland revenue not the DWP which ran that site?

I don't rate any of them!

entitledto has always been ridiculously wrong for me and yes I do ensure my details are put in correctly. For some reason it thinks this year's total income including childcare should be £40,000 instead of £19,000; just a tad out.

I recently got very accurate calculations by telephoning Tax Credits and HB in person. Using the online calculators for both gave incorrect outcomes that were a fair bit under what I am actually entitled to.

The new deal peeps give close calculations though apparantly you can no longer obtain one over the phone and have to make an appointment to go in person.

My advice would be to telephone Tax Credits and HB directly.

Yes, entitledto has left me bewildered as well. Its figures seem to be wildly optimistic. According to the entitledto site we would be awarded total tax credits of £6550. However, the Inland Revenue are looing at a figure of around £2700 for the full year. And, yes, I did input all the info' correctly so I think that entitledto is best avoided - despite its high profile in TV etc.
