Thanks for the reply.
Can I write to the store manager before the NtK arrives? Or should I wait?
Also, should I take some photos of the signs? I just remembered that when I parked up, the two cars beside me were still there when I got back and were not ticketted like my car, however I didn't think to take a photo at the time. They also had no pay and display ticket on display. How can they single me out?
Go back and complain the store manager. I didn't have a receipt on the day of my ticket either. I took in bank statements proving I was a returning customer and although none of the entries were for the day in question (I paid cash), the ticket was still cancelled.0 -
Complain now, receipt or not. This is harassment and you were a customer.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Shall I actually go in or should I write a letter? Even though I teach for a profession I am actually terrible and nervous when talking in these situations!!
What would I say? Would I tell the store manager I am disappointed in the ticket and for him/her to justify it? What am I expecting from the conversation?0 -

Firstly, don't be nervous, you're a customer and they want your business.
As I did, just tell them you're a regular customer (show statements if you have them) and very upset/annoyed at getting this unjustified charge. Ask them to get the charge cancelled or you or your family won't be shopping there again. They're probably used to complaints about parking and getting tickets cancelled anyway.
It's not for the manager to justify the ticket btw. It comes from a private parking company.0 -
I went back to the site to look at signage and the entrance sign blatantly says pay and display with a note underneath saying a valid ticket must be displayed at all times. However they have a sign saying 30minutes free parking. So which one is it? Am I wrong for not getting that ticket?
I have not managed to speak to the manager yet, will try and go down today or tomorrow.0 -
Stop thinking you have done wrong. BE ANGRY about the harassment.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi everyone. Just want to say a big thank you for the excellent advice you gave me.
I went to speak to the manager, who I must add was very helpful, and my ticket has been CANCELLED.
The relief is immense!0 -

Well done Fudgebox and well done retail outlet manager, who obviously knows what customer service is and how important customers are to his business.
