Can a single person apply for a 3 bed shared ownership property?

This forum been very helpful and am looking for more advice. nBasically, my partner and I earn over the 60k threshold (only just by about £400) meaning that if we apply as joint applicants we wouldn't be eligible for shared ownership. Would I be able to apply for a 3 bed shared ownership home as a single person? I'm currently in a 1 bed home (shared ownership) and I remember back in 2006 when I purchased I wasn't allowed more than one extra bedroom per person (I.e. one person=two bedrooms). Is this still the case? Housing Assosciation aren't being very clear when I asked them the question!

Probably not.
Ask the HCA HomeBuy Agent for your area, rather than the HA.
Have a look in the back of this for the list;-

Even as a couple you may struggle, as I was told that they have to support those with a housing need first. If they have a family who applies for a 3 bed shared ownership, then they will offer it to them first.0

Probably not and for precisely the reason you are trying to give, a family on less than £60k will need it more than you do.0

When I was looking this year, they say 1 extra room than neededDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
