Hotels in Paris (France) - Any ideas where?

Me and my wife are looking to book hotel in Paris, France, around 25th to 31st of December this year. (about 2 months from now)

I am looking at hotels and even read the MoneySavingExpert page about cheap hotels etc, but I see the cheapest place to stay is 40 GBP per night at ibis hotel that is located a bit far from the city....

Is there any other way to find good accommodation for 1 week but with a normal price? All other hotels are asking for a minimum of 400 GBP for the entire stay, is that the normal price for Paris hotels? Do you guys have any ideas what would be the best way to find good accommodation for a fair price? (preferably no more than 40 GBP per night ...)

Sorry but it just doesn't exist, so no point looking or it.

You will have to compromise on location and hotel quality if you want that price. The Ibis Budget hotels near Porte d'Italie are around £45 per night and 20 mins from the Louvre by metro

    Thanks,
We found great prices in the villejuif area, it has nearby metro stations, easy to get into the centre of Paris and easy prices too. There are really lots of great hotels there!

    Thanks!

It'd be cheaper just to go for 4/5 nights.

£400 for 6 nights works out to roughly €77 per night. In the centre of Paris that's fair. Glad you got somewhere though.

Don't forget to look for the book of tickets for the Metro or any special deals which allow you to make a lot of journeys.

    Richard,

You said it doesn't exist, however my wife found a website called AirBNB.com and there we found a studio for couple, 26 meters squared, with Internet, Washer, Nice Bed, around the centre of Paris, and this is all for 237 GBP including everything.

The host has good reviews from others, and he was very responsive through the messaging system, so it's such a bargain, 6 nights, you have your own place, extremely good price (you could say some people that price just for 1 night at Central Paris!)

Of course there is a cancellation option as well up to 5 days before arrival but we've booked flights to Italy as well so we'd definitely love to try it.

All in all, it seems like it is possible to find a deal of the one we were looking for.

    Andy,

Where can I find deals for the Metro and other places and transportation in Paris? Do you know of any good websites?

You just buy a carnet of 10 tickets at any Metro station.
