told to resign

Surely the marking policy states that the work must be marked before the next lesson? These things all came up, but you were expecting to teach them on the day you were on strike, and were then ill were you not?
You need to speak to your union as a matter of urgency, and tell the head you will not make a decision without taking further advice if s/he presses you."On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." My hero, Mr Steer.0 -
OP, I'm guessing you can't be in a union as you would have talked to them at a much earlier stage.
The stages are First Written, Final and then Dismissal. If you are dismissed it will be with a term's pay. Clearly it's in the Head's best interests if you resign as then the school only pay you until December.
If you're not in a union you need to be going to the TES website for specific advice on your situation.Saving money right, left and centre0 -
I've tried really hard to come up with a feedback sandwich here but I can't.
2 years in and out of competency is two years too long in my view.
What on earth did the observer see in 10 minutes that led to comments that would make the head want shot of you immediately? What damage are you doing to your pupils' education?
Save everyone, including yourself, the bother and resign.0 -
The Head is clearly trying to do you a favour and despite you being in review for so long, you think you should still be a teacher? One of the few cases I can honestly say, "think of the children". Resign and find another career.0

Thanks everyone for the supportive and candid replies. I did speak to my union rep, and handed in my resignation yesterday.
Ihave had problems over the last year, my shock was that it was so sudden.
I'm still trying to get feedback on the lesson -I too would love to know what I did that was so wrong !Oh for Goodness' Sake!! Here we go again
Total debt £4,839.51 (Still adding it up though
)
Now : £4, 759.810 -
For such a short observation, presumably behaviour management was the issue as I can't see how you could teach or not teach anything significant in that time.0

In order to know what was so wrong you need to have a certain level of competence. If you genuinely have no clue there are two possibilities: you are genuinely so poor that you have no ability to judge what is acceptable or not and therefore the competency issues are all down to this or b) it's a case of your face not fitting and its any excuse.
Usually when you learn how to do something you reach a stage where you are good enough to know what you are doing wrong. There is a minimum level to reach before self awareness kicks in. Thinking everything is fine when others are disagreeing is a big warning sign that there is something up. Can you not think of a single thing that the observer could have seen that might make them give you a negative report?
If you have had issues since the start it unfortunately does point to a serious issue with capability if you still have no idea about what you were doing wrong
