I want to visit part of Colombia but the foreign office says

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) advise against all but essential travel to the following parts of Colombia:

Is there any travel insurance that will still cover me?

BTW the place I want to visit is safe but the foreign office advice has not changed yet.

You could try someone like International SOS; they'll provide cover, or know someone else who will, but the costs may be painful.

Their telephone number is based in Jordan, and is underwritten by an insurer in Iraq, not a country traditionally known for its international insurance market.

It may be an exceptional but you obviously need to be aware that you dont have the protection of UK consumer/ insurance law and ombudsman.

Personally, I'd try a decent UK travel broker or at least one that also does K&R cover as it is more likely they'll have the contacts to get something sorted but you should be expecting quality rather than low price
