Are you going to go to the big clubs?

  • It depends what you want really. Do you want somewhere lively and fit for a party holiday or do you want somewhere more relaxed and better suited to a romantic holiday?
Do you want to go self catering, all inclusive?

Hotel Tropical - budget hotel, not far from the strip, pool across the road. Quiet location despite being close to the strip in San antonio. If all you are going to do is use the room to rest your head its fine. Its not luxurious and its a bit basic but its fine.

The big club nightlife isn't all in one place though.
If you want to go to Pacha, you could base yourself at Talamanca.

  • I know you said you didn't want a hotel, but does that mean you're looking more for a private villa or apartment or just somewhere that's self catering? If you want self catering and want to be in Ibiza Town itself then the Tropical Garden Apartments are a good choice.
But if you want to be in San Antonio area then the Blue Star Apartments, in San Antonio Bay, are also a good choice.

The clubs are spread out with some in San Antonio and some in Ibiza Town, and a few on the road in between the two. There's also Space which is in Playa d'en Bossa near the airport.

There's a regular bus service between resorts and in high season most of the clubs run a 'disco bus' which will pick you up and drop you off at the club and back to your apartments later.

  • The questions you need to really answer are when are you going and what sort of budget? Bear in mind that if budget is tight that the clubs are not cheap to gain entry to.

If between end of May and October (approximately) then you have lots of variety and choice of places to stay and go. If outside of these dates then you have a lot less as the only major club that will be open is Pacha and quite a few of the hotels shut. As per the other posters the clubs are well spread out. DC10 is near the airport as well. Privilege can be seen from the top of the old town in Ibiza.

If in season and you want countryside and some party and you have a reasonable budget you could consider Pikes. This is now part of Ibiza Rocks so is no longer the quiet chill out place it used to be.

I’ve just come back from a 4 day break. I know the island well, but have never been out of season nor stayed in Ibiza town. Stayed in the Torre Del Canonigo in the old town at the top of Dalt Villa. It wasn’t cheap but was worth it. It didn’t really feel like a hotel and had a lot of character.
