VENT: 'DETTOX' cleaning products customer service

:mad:Recently I bought a bottle of 'DETTOX' anti-bacterial surface cleaner in a spray bottle. I used it once and it was OK but the second time I used it the spray stopped working after 2 seconds.
I tried everything but I couldn't see why it didn't work-it's in one of those plastic bottles that are sealed round the spray mechanism and so can't be opened.
I wasn't happy at all to be left with a three quarter full bottle of expensive cleaning product that is now useless.
I wrote to DETTOX Customer service and explained the problem.
That was more than a month ago and they haven't even had the decency to send me an apology!

If it's faulty, take it back to the shop.

    Wow.

Seems to me you're a very lucky person if the only thing that you have to vent about is a faulty bottle of cleaning solution.

Don't let yourself get so worked up - take the bottle back to the shop you bought it from maybe?? :o

I reckon Meryl Streep should play you in the film. She could exhibit her full range of abilities, excitement (upon entering the shop), wonderment (as she walks the aisles), contentment (upon paying for Dettox), satisfaction (as the product is used), confusion (as the Dettox stops working), anger (as she realises that the bottle is sealed round the spray mechanism and so can't be opened) and despair as she realises that (NO ONE HAS SENT HER AN APOLOGY!!!!)

Alternatively you could cut the bottle and decant the liquid into a garden spray container, which is what I have done.

Surely one's man's minor annoyance is allowed to be someone else's last straw!

Surely, also, this is a thread in which to vent one's frustration, not one where people judge your tolerance level.

OP, I would take it back to the shop, as suggested. Hopefully they will replace it without a fuss.

I had a recent, similar incident with The White Company. My handwash wouldn't dispense the soap and they offered to replace it when I mentioned it. As it happens, I managed to fix it myself, eventually.

I too was venting my frustration at the OP, or is that not allowed in your world? I think it was the highlighting in the OP that felt unnecessary unless they are a troll or I've had an irony bypass.
Sorry but sometimes I think lets show this problem to the people of Somalia, or Syria, or Pakistan or other blighted areas of the world, just to put it into perspective. If all you have to moan about is a bottle of cleaner then things aint too bad. Maybe you could help the OP with her bottle given your expertise?

Yes, I am happy to help anyone who has a problem, as it happens. I am even happy to help you with your tendency to overreact and somewhat bizarre aggression.

If I can't help, I am sure someone could recommend a therapist who could.

Or maybe you are too busy thinking about world affairs. Chill, it might just help initially.

Don't mean to annoy you OP but if the company is Reckitt Benckiser (I think it is) I very much doubt you'll be receiving a reply this side of Christmas... I made a complaint to them in May and it's only just (this week) been resolved! The first acknowledgement of my complaint didn't come for five weeks!

No over reaction from me, just putting things in perspective. Now I have a bottle that needs opening, can you help?

LOL, I thought that might be your problem. When you do manage to open it, maybe you need to take more water with it. :)
