Better card than Tesco?

Is there a better credit card than Tesco for cashback, points etc. given that the applicant is female, 67 and has an income from pensions of £600 per month?
And most of the grocery shopping is done in Tesco, average spend on the card £300 per month, not all from Tesco?

I would recommend smile bank. Although i also wouldn't at the same time because its got me into some debt. I am definitely not responsible enough for a credit card!0

With a smile classic card you'll get 0.25% cashback on purchases*. You'd be surprised how quickly you can clock up your smile cashback.
you're kidding aren't you?
1/4 of what she gets in Tesco points.
She gets 300 Tesco points a month worth at minimum £3.
So she gets a smile card and get 75p a month.
No thanks0 -
If she's a low spender and the majority she does spend is at Tesco then there probably isn't another card that would be better. As the only rate of cashback available for that low a spend without a fee is 0.5%
Although Capital One Classic extra has 0.5% + £10 year bonus for paying on time - still only works out at £2.33 a month.Mortgage remaining: £42,260 of £77,000 (2.59% til 03/18 - 2.09% til 03/23)
Savings target June 18 - £22,281.99 / £25,0000 -
I did ask about a better credit card not a worse one.
Why do people do that?0 -

Not quite. It's one point for each £4 spent. That's 75 points a month worth a minimum of 75p, but up to £3 on clubcard exchange. (So between 0.25% and 1%).
Amex Everyday and Capital One Classic Extra would get you 0.5% on that sort of monthly spend.
After that it gets more complicated...- [STRIKE]Creation cashback will give 1.5% in supermarkets, 0.5% elsewhere.[/STRIKE] (strike that, need to be in full time employment, sorry).
- Some cards will give you voucher instead (e.g. Amazon, 1% back in Amazon vouchers).
- Then there are fee paying cards, probably not worth it on that level of spending (although Santander 123 may be worth it if a lot of that is on petrol).
- MBNA "More rewards" comes with two cards (same PIN). One Amex card which gives 1% back, one Visa which gives 0.5% back (can be exchanged for high street vouchers, but I think there's a cash back on account option as well).

It's one point for each £4 spent.
When did that change?
I'm sure when she got the card it was 1 point for every £.
I never take any notice of her credit card, it was just because Tesco bank doesn't like my computer I've been looking at alternatives.
I will definitely get her onto my Capital One credit card.0
