I am a Scottish Hydro (SSE) customer, and was looking at USwitch, Tesco Clubcard deal with Eon and other price comparison websites, and found I had a lot of information to take in between fixed rates and money back offers.
What I noticed was that the daily standing charges were higher with other utility companies. So I contacted SSE if they had any deals, (what company would take themselves out of contention and intentionally loose a lot of their customers) and they pointed me towards a deal offered on their sse website, where you can fix your CURRENT tariff for 12 months and AVOID the planned increase in tariffs. This was not a deal I found during my searches for better deals online.
So I recommend you check with your existing supplier if they have a deal you can move onto!
