Richer Sounds Warranty

Hi all
A quick question. I purchased a TV from a house-mate a few years back complete with the 5 year warranty he purchased from Richer Sounds.
The TV is no longer working and within warranty so I want to claim for a repair. The warranty details remain in his name and he's willing to transfer them into my name, but we aren't sure how.
I understand that, as of 2011 or so, the purchaser was able to transfer warranty ownership by sending on their documentation with a cover letter and the new details for the new owner, but since I have all that documentation and info I'm not sure if the original purchaser needs to get in touch or if I can sort this myself.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Simplest solution would be to get your friend to claim for the repair1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?0 -
Years ago I bought a TV for my elderly dad from Richer sounds. I bought it in Birmingham, they delivered it in Wiltshire. The 5 year guarantee was only 10% of purchase price, so for once I bought it. Similarly I got him a Hard drive recorder which I collected from Birmingham and delivered myself.
The hard drive recorder went wrong and he was asked to return it to his nearest shop (25 miles away in Bristol). He said he could not drive that far, park etc. They found they had an employee who lives a few miles away who came and collected the box and delivered a brand new replacement to his house two days later.
This is the best example of customer services I have ever experienced, even though technically the box was mine and not his.
Richer Sounds are an excellent outfit, not your usual box shifters, so just ask them. I was so pleased with the service my dad received I phoned and thanked them. I got a personal letter back from Jonathan Richer.
You will see from my other posts I am no stooge for a retail company, and hate most of them with a passion, but credit where it is due.0 -

Did your former flatmate buy it before this change in 2011? If not then the change is unlikely to be retrospective
Almost certainly you would need to have switched the warranty prior to the problem occurring and to switch it now and then claim is likely to trigger questions of fraud but you'd need to double check the exact terms0 -
I doubt you got a personal reply from jonathan richer, as the owner is Julian richer, genuinely a personal friend of mine and lives less than a mile from me0

Forgive me for stating the obvious, but with so many unknowns surely the best thing to do is pick up the phone and ask them?0

Forums would die if people did that kind of thing.
Get away with your crazy talk.0
