Between 400£ and 650£ a month depending where in West LOndon0

It will vary a lot depending on the quality of the place and the neighbourhood - I'd think £100 per week is very cheap for a decent room in a decent (safe) location.Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0

it also depends how far out of the Centre you want to go.
£100/week should get you something fairly decent further out in zones 5/60 -

Yes i am talking about a decent room in a decent location0 -
If you want a nice-ish room in a safe location close to good transport links (a station or good bus routes), I'd expect you to pay closer to £150 a week or more.
The cheapest option may be to find a place where someone is just letting out a single spare room in their own home (rather than a shared house/HMO) as people sometimes keep them a bit cheaper to be under the threshold for declaring the income and paying tax etc.Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -
And on another note how £ would you expect to put on a deposit for a room0

Gawd, I lived in London in 1980 and paid £22 for a room in a shared house. Mind you, you could buy houses at laughable amounts (now) then too lol. I won't tell you the pitiful amount I was earning though he he!
Within the year, I was paying £18 for a one bed council flat in Angel, Islington lol.
Makes me feel really ancient.
Sorry, this is totally pointless to the original poster.0 -
I'm in south west London, zone 2 and pay 550 a month (includes bills apart from energy) sharing with 2 others.
Deposit was 6 weeks rent and if you're going through an agency you'll likely need another 100-150 for fees.
It will really depend on area and how many you share with.0
