Avast new version - causing odd problems?

Anybody else getting weird problems with the old version of avast, now that the new version is available for download.

I've had a few weird ones where I've uninstalled the old version and installed the new one and it seemed to have cured the problem.

Memory problems, blue screens, etc.

Maybe just my imagination!

It's funny you should say that. Having migrated to avast from years of avg, I felt things were going better, but last night and today, on start up I keep getting boxes referencing the orbi cam on my laptop and that it needs updating. Despite going through the motions of following instructions then trying to delete, I need to spend five mins trying to remove it. I am now wondering if avast is behind it because like avast on my laptop, this is new.

if the message is coming from the avast software updater function, just turn it off under avast tools, if it's coming from some other updater software, it won't be anything to do with avast.
