How to view Humax Freesat on second TV

I have finally decided to ditch Sky and go freesat (I have no aerial so cannot go freeview)
I have ordered a Humax Freesat box HDR 1010s.

With Sky I have a TV link which goes into my bedroom so I can view from the same box, will I be able to do the same with the Humax box? will I need different equipment? thanks

My neighbours do it so it must be possible, but I'm not sure what they use. When I ditched Sky+ for Freesat+ I carried on using my second (non-recording) Sky box for my second TV as it was wired in to the satellite dish when Sky was first installed.

How does your TV link connect - RF or SCART? I may be corrected, but I don't think the Humax will output to RF (it may pass-through though).
What you can do in any case, is get a SCART TV sender, if you don't already have that - it will work like your Sky one - picture gets sent to your second TV, and you can send the IR signals from the remote through the little eyes into the Freesat box.
If you're already using a SCART connector on your HDR (for an old TV, then use the VCR one for the 2nd TV.
  • Thanks I was coming to that conclusion, and theres no RF on the freesat I have ordered, I was looking at something like this Adaptor
Or I had seen this which is cheaper but wasnt sure

    Thanks for your help

Don't buy those, ignore RF as it's a rubbish way to transport a picture. Use SCART as it's better quality, and you can use it to transmit anything with a SCART output to anything with a SCART input. Make sure whatever you buy also sends back the remote control signals so that you can control the box from the other room.
Here's an example of what you want, but I have no personal experience of it:

    Any other suggestions folks?

I use a Videosender (as above but slightly different model) - make sure you get a 5 gig one the old 2.4 ones get swamped with wireless /microwave interference.

Yes that's as may be but the OP is used to getting RF from the Sky box so the fact that she/he has cables already there ...... I would personally use a Humax Foxsat-HDR and use ethernet but that is just my take.

Use the ethernet? For a TV link?
I'd imagine the coax solution might take a bit of setting up and hassle too, and I would suggest that for a bit more money, you have a simpler setup, more futureproof, and better quality.
