Flu Spray Vaccine for 2 & 3 year olds

Options
Heard last month that all 2 & 3 year olds were now being routinely offered this spray so have been expecting to get a letter about booking my 3 year old in.
After not hearing anything I just rang my GP to be told they aren't going to be writing to parents but are expecting them to be pro-active in booking their child in!! Luckily I keep an eye on the news so had heard about the vaccine but some of my friends knew nothing about it till I mentioned it.
How can they go on about herd immunity when they aren't actively letting parents know that the vaccine is available. I'm just completely gobsmacked and wondered if it was just my local NHS trust being lazy and if other parents had received letters about it.

We had the letter too (Dundee), but had to wait for the GP to actually be able to supply it.

We're in the north west and had a letter a few weeks back (see my previous thread on it as I'd missed it in the news!). We had it done today. I think it's a bit shoddy not notifying people it's available, especially as its a new thing.

We rang our doctors a few weeks ago and they hadn't decided if they were giving the vaccine at all! Haven't heard anything since so tried to call them today but can't get through at all.
Got adverts all over local radio telling you to get your child immunised but we can't do that if the doctors won't do it.

My almost three year old had this a few weeks ago.

My mum (who looks after her) actively did it all and went to the surgery and was told they had clinics for it.

But also received a letter after this to advise us to get it done and told the dates the clinics were doing it in the area.

Haha, yeah, guess I phrased it wrong. My mum minds my girls three days a week and took it upon herself to get the flu jab done. Luckily I don't question (much) what my mum does with my girls and let her get on with it, I figure she only has their best interests at heart.

She really is a second mum to my little uns, when I get in from work, they come running saying "Mum, can I have.....?" and I go, "I don't know, I wasn't here, ask your Nan if you're allowed!"
