Help to Buy: Waiting on Exchange of Contracts

Options
Was supposed to exchange contracts last Friday but my buyer (First Time Buyer) had not sent deposit to solicitor.

Then we did not get Authority to Exchange from Catalyst (Help to Buy Agent) because our developer had left the previous purchaser on the HCA IMS system.

Phone call this morning. Buyer ready to exchange today. Catalyst have issued the ATE now, and just waiting to exchange my sale, and my purchase! This could be longest afternoon ever!

Considering that we made our offer on August 8th. This has been a long bumpy process, and I feel sick waiting for phone call that everything is going through.

Need to breathe slowly!

I feel your pain, just had our newbuild purchase fall though in the final stages before exchange after over a week of negotiations, trying to save the deal. Gutted and it was a frustrating and nerve wrecking week. Time for round 2. Good luck with your purchase, hope we'll get that far this time round...

The whole process has been more complicated and frustrating than it should be. I used to live in Holland, when I bought a house there, the whole deal was pretty much sorted in 3 hours. Been working on it for 5-6 weeks here and now have nothing to show for it except just under a grand in fees I won't be getting back...

Holiday Haggler I've been Money Tipped!
We are now on house number three! We sold, found a house, did all of the legal work. Then sale stalled. Developer pulled out. Found another house, Took us a while to find another buyer, then that went a week before we sold again. Third time lucky!
