store taken money twice

I spent £49 in a supermarket yesterday using my debit card. Today my bank has taken that money, and it has appeared on my statement, however there is also an amount pending to come out of the same £49, effectively reducing my available balance to £6. I cannot spend the money without going overdrawn, does anyone know my rights on reclaiming any charges which may occur (say if a direct debit comes out), or how long it will take before the money goes back properly into my account. And is it the bank or store who is responsible?
Thank you

It's probably not that the store has taken the money twice, but more likely that the amount "reserved " to come out of the account for this transaction hasn't yet been released.
If so, a call or a visit to the bank should sort it out - I've had this in the past with a hotel transaction and a call to my bank resolved it.0 -
The bank will not be able to go anything unless the transaction had physically left your account.
The pending payment will drop off within 3-10 days depending who you bank with.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -
Was it Asda?
I've seen a few similar threads - they just put the second amount on hold and as per the above posts it will be "released" in a couple of days.Thinking critically since 1996....0
