Morning,
Was wondering if those on this deal are sticking with it or jumping ship now. I am in Merseyside and pay £112 a month (they reduced it from £123 a few months ago)
No standing charge but rates are 24.354 pence per kWh (threshold per quarter 225) and secondary unit rate 11.565 per kWh for Electricity
Gas 7.588 pence per kWh (threshold per quarter 670) and secondard unit rate 3.375.
I have been trying to find the rates for the online fixed price energy March 2015 but am struggling to get these, can anyone help? also I see on this fixed there is £25 leaving fee for gas and the same for electricity which I don`t have at the moment (don`t usually like to be tied into anything...but not sure if there is anything better out there) have been happy so far with Scot Power (we had elec with them for 20years and tis fixed for the last 12 months or so)
Wondering would you consider a change, to them or anyone else or might we be best siticking it out until end of Feb 2014 when this deal ends.
Thank you as always to anyone who can offer any help or suggestions.

Here is the link for the March 2015 pdf.

I've just switched to this, but from Jan 2014 fixed. Note that the DD discounts and dual fuel discounts are lower than before.0 -
Thanks LesU, just got back from work so will check it out.
Parafira, thanks.0 -
Just looking at the EDF fixed until March 2015, standing charge is slightly less but cost of gas and elec is slightly higher. Also you can get out of this deal with no charge. I`m not really sure about the £50 to change with Scott Power should I find another company I wish to move to.
I`ve read the posting about EDF and some of the problems people have encountered with DD`s etc. Must admit no probelm with Scott Power.
I can also get £30 changing through the MSE Energy Club.
Any good or bad points against EDF?
Thanks0 -
Katies Mum I have switched yesterday to EDF . I was with Npower for Elec and BG for Gas. I used to have EDF at my old property before we recently brought a house a few months ago. All I can say is that I never had any problems with them before for 3 years.0

Many thanks, I have been checking on most of the comparison sites just to make sure! and they are coming up the best for me and also really strange but none of the Scottish Power deals are even listed!
It is going to be more expesive but gives us another 13 months when I don`t have to worry and also 2 winters.
Can anyone explain..when I put in my monthly DD amount I get an annual quote of £1384 yet when I put in usage I get £1475?
I am paying £112 now but this was reduced by Scot Power from £123 so evenif DD goes back to that amount I will be happy.0 -
I switched from SP march 2014 to March 2015 as it was £75 a year more for me but that will only be 5 months worth (£31). In March 2014 I am sure there won't be any rates around as cheap as the March 2015 rate is now.
I didn't like the penalties to switch either, but the point of a fixed tariff is to hang in there and ride over the hikes regaining what you lost initially in higher rates and leaving early is likely to reduce your gain. I will eat my sock if any super cheap tariffs comes along next year. Also you can switch to another SP tariff without penalty should they miraculously come up with a cheaper deal.0 -
Thanks for replying, I think I`m going to go with EDF as I can move whenever I want penalty free and get £30 cash back (this of course isn`t the deciding factor) just hate to be tied in with penaltys if there is another choice that is a similar price without.0

I have just changed to EDF March 2015 fixed using the MSE Cheap Energy Club, I can`t believe how easy it was. Thank you.0

They cannot switch you from Scottish Power to Scottish Power, so they DON'T want to show you the cheaper Scottish Power deals. You have to tick the box that says NO to "Only show deals we can switch you to". Even then Moneysupermarket.com only show the expensive Scottish Power deals, so March 2015 and December 2014 do not appear.
You need to select another provider like E.On as your current supplier, and then all the deals for Scottish Power will appear.0 -
Oh, thanks...think I have simple head on as usual...it never occured to me.
Scottish Power March 2015 and EDF March 2015 only have a few pounds between them on my quotes, so have gone with the one that does not have a tie in.. hopefully I have made the right decision and can forget about it until 2015. Something else ticked off the to do list.0
