BT email login/password problems

First of all, I did post about this last week, but the problem has not been solved, and I now have issues with my other screen name.

When the BT login changed last week, I was unable to login to my email on my main name, despite the fact that I know all the details were correct. I was able to login to the second name which I use for strictly business use, but now, today I cannot login to that one.

Not a problem you say, simply change the password using my personal data/security question.

Well, I have gone through the stages of doing that, answering correctly, and then finally I hit a brick wall.
The very last stage of the password change is asking me to "update your computer's email application" and I have tried to do this manually which just freezes the screen, and then tried to do it automatically (which is what they recommend), but it is asking me to change my security settings which are too strict, and to do this:

Your security settings are too strict

The settings on your browser are preventing us from installing or running the setup software.

Please go to Tools > Internet Options and click on the Security tab. Then click on the Custom Levels button. Under 'Download signed ActiveX controls' select Prompt or Enable, and under 'Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins' select Prompt or Enable. Then click OK.

When I do the first step, there is a warning that my system is not secure - so what shall I do?

I really need to access these emails quickly, and I am worried that the passwords do not work any more, and that I am getting instructions to change the security levels in internet options.

Someone please help, because I need this working ASAP.

Cheers.
