What an industry Thatcher created. I'm assuming they won't be announcing their increase today? :p

Just been on BBC News.

Edit: it really is about time the board members of these companies were personally fined by the regulator. The industry would be cleaned up overnight.

  • As someone who defends the big 6 on most issues (it's great when you actually know the facts), the misselling debacle was just atrocious.

I used to entertain these morons on my doorstep, who would spout the most outrageous lies. I didn't know SP were at it, it was SSE in my region (South Wales), but sadly it doesn't surprise me.

Changed it for you. It's one of the rules of this forum that people who work in the industry need to make that clear in their sig. It helps other readers evaluate your posts. I know you are new so just thought I'd help you out here. :) There are some superb, genuinely helpful posters who work in the industry and have the appropriate info in their sigs; SwanJon and Joyful spring to mind here.

Thanks, but I actually work in the legal industry.

I'm not new here, I used to post under a different name, explicitly stating that I worked for an energy company. I changed username when about a month ago when I started my new role.

  • Dreaming of Halcyon Days I guess ;)

I don't owe you any sort of explanation, however I've been accused of 2 things that aren't true:

    a) I'm not Wywth

    b) I no longer work for an energy firm.

    Hi All,

We all just complain and do nothing, it is time to act.

I found this e-petition which makes a perfect sense, that is what we need. Just sign it and if there will be enough signatures this will be passed on to the Parliament.

Back to the Scottish Power situation.

Did anyone here the OFGEM rep(Sarah Harrison?) on Radio 5 this morning?

She actually did very well IMO and has a good career ahead of her if she enters politics!

She avoided every question put to her, remained unflustered and simply repeated extracts from her pre-prepared script

'We have simplified tariffs for customers' - 'switch now and save £???'. 'our research showed customers want xxxx'
