Dog eat dog companies- New composite doors needed

I am in need of a new front door and back door. Going for the composite doors after looking at the different options.
I had a couple of quotes last week.
I filled in a form on a windows and doors website yesterday for an 'instant quote' then got a phone call from someone who said they were passing my details onto three local companies
I had already arranged an appointment for someone from a local company to come around today to give me an accurate quote based on what I want done.
I was quoted £2100 (from the appointment today with the local company) which includes a front door with a large fan light, letterbox and my door number leaded into it. and also a back door also with a letterbox (keep getting postman coming to back door as front is pedestrianised)
Had a phone call from the wonderful SafeStyle UK this evening. The delightful young man informed me that they had paid for my details so I 'really should have a quote from them' and that the company I am going ahead with must be crap as he hadnt heard of them (baring in mind the guy in question was from a call centre down south and I am North East). He told me I am being ripped off and that I should be paying half of the quoted amount for the job done.
I told the guy 5 times that I didnt want any more information as I was happy going ahead with the company I had chosen....he kept going on and on....so i hung up!
Serious hard sell going on there, and they would sell their own granny to get a sale, some of these companies!
Anyways..... feeling a little vulnerable now.....lol am I being ripped off???

Is your back door a composite door as well? If so I suppose you could be looking at £1650 upwards, depends on a number of factors - all composite doors are not made equal, for the leading composite doors you will pay more0

We dealt with a local company, it was a guy I met and liked and could visit his showroom. He took the time to listen to us and provided products that really met our requirements. We found him on Checkatrade so we were just lucky but if you've got any neighbours with shiny new composite doors then it might be worth asking them if they'd recommend the company they used.0

We have a Solidor composite door (ludlow range) which cost us £690 fitted roughly 5 years ago, have a look on their site for a style you like then check who they supply local to you, this is what we did, looking at getting a back door next. (Once I finish the kitchen and utility room that is).

Forgot to mention they have a 10 year guarantee too.
If this helps then please click the thanks tab.
