Shared ownership solicitor fees ?

Looking at selling my shared ownership property, just wondered if anyone had a rough idea of the solicitor costs? When I bought in 2008 fees (minus mortgage deposit) were just under 2k. My sellers pack given to me by the housing association only talks about valuation fees.

Don't you get your own solicitor, the same as if you were selling any property you own? Just ring up a few and get some quotes or ask the one you used to purchase the property for a quote? Better let them know it's SO in case that affects their price or it's outside their expertise.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0

about 700-1000Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Really depends on how much of a song and dance the Housing Association make over consents for the sale etc. One local to me insists on going through their solicitor to produce quite unnecessary consents (which the HA could do direct) thereby adding to the costs for the poor seller.
They need to consent to the buyer (eligibility under their scheme) and to his mortgage. They will also need to answer questions about the rent and any service charges and there will be fees for all these things.
A seller's solicitor will have to contend with all this bureaucracy and may well charge more because of the hassle involved.RICHARD WEBSTER
