                    Hi Can anyone suggest what I can do to repair my husbands pc please. His ie comes up on the screen but all he can do with it is click on his favourites but when he does that nothing happens. I can t see it in his list of programmes so that I can uninstall it and when I download it again it still doesn t work. Thanks

third party firewalls if installed, can stop internet enabled programs working too!!

            I suggest keep avast, uninstall the rest.
It could also be related to the previous problems, try creating a new user account if the above doesn't work
still not working, post a hijackthis log (the text file can be transferred to another pc with working internet)!!

The thing is he hasn t even got a toolbar ? Is that what's it's called showing so I can t click on tools Internet options etc. how do I bring the toolbar up so I can do this .? That's if it will work in the first place.
And as for posting a hijack this log I haven t got a clue how to.

Latest lol I googled how to do the toolbar and did something you
said and more by luck than judgement it seems to be ok now . Till the next problem occurs lol. Thanks Closed. Ps I don't know much about pc s and he knows even less.0 - 
            press alt, then view, toolbars, menu bar
instructions on hijackthis are in the speedup sticky thread above
a disk image backup might be useful, in case you have problems in the future, also mentioned in the speedup thread.!!

            Also.. what's his homepage? could be an addon that was crashing and stopping the homepage loading properly.0

Update your internet explorer, reset the settings, hope it will help you.0
