Returned DD

Options
First post..

Weird thing has happened today went to check my account online (Halifax) and O2 had taken the DD which was expected but logged back in this evening to discover it had been returned, I know that when it's returned it's usually due to insufficient funds but there was more than enough to cover the bill. Will i be charged for this inconvenience?

Thanks in advance

did you have enough cleared funds in your account to cover the dd?
If you did then best to get onto your bank to get some answers as you would normally get charged for a returned dd
  • Yes more than enough, the only other outgoing payment was new paypal purchase, I'll ring the bank!, Thanks

Had the DD been successfully claimed last month, or was it the first collection?

Or maybe it's the first for a while?...in which case you may have fallen foul of the dormancy rules.

Just to clarify though, your funds weren't subject to cheque clearance at all?...ie your 'available balance' (not running balance or balance) was sufficient?
  • It been perfect for the last 19 months and there was a good £200 in there so i have no idea

How much did O2 attempt to take? What did O2 say when you called them to clarify what had happened?
  • They took £21.99 out, O2 said ring the bank then ring O2 payments team
