WantToBeSE wrote: »My 1st shop of November done today in Lidl, and spent £40.13.
I only shopped in Lidl because there was one in the town i was working in today.
I am not impressed with this Lidl at all! I couldnt get much that was on my list so will have to go to tesco as well to finish the shopping.
Back to my normal Aldi next time!
I'm not keen on LIDL either, apart from the home baked bread:p:p
Had another NSD today:j:j"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

This month I hope to come in a reasonable amount under budget - I have a freezer full to bursting point, plenty of snacks and basics, so it's just fresh fruit, veg and bread that I need.
I'm determined to get back on top of things this month and will be writing proper meal plans (have been out of the habit for about 6 weeks), shopping lists and stopping going shopping while starving.
Minicooper:- I could have written your quote as it describes exactly where I'm at. I keep my 'food' purse in the car all the time just top it up once a week back to the amount budgeted. I'm now doing meal plans again, and I always go shopping after I've eaten tea at about 8pm, sometimes I even manage to get some YS items.0 -
Managed to get food shopping done whilst I had no children with me. Much easier. Just took it slowly round the shop and did shop and scan so I could keep an eye on how much I was spending. Even managed to pick up a couple of christmas presents (art sets that were £5 down to £1.25!). Anyway, spent a total of £38.08p, followed by another £1.50p on medicine for my little one who is coming down with cold
So a total of £39.58p to add.
Really pleased with that. Got DH packed lunch stuff, some fruit, veg, some expensive toothpaste (the only one i can use) but at least it had 1/3 off. Got some pop, juice, biscuits and a few tins along with 3 christmas presents so really happy with it all.

Yes, I always used to go shopping really late when I was a student. Not so much now, I try to squeeze it in on the way home to combine journeys, but that means I'm hungry when I go. I've beenntrying to go more on Sat evenings when it's nice and quiet, which does help. I just need to stop borrowing from the purse.0 -
I dropped in at Homebase for building stuff this morning and found myself near Aldi so I got in the wine for the weekends - they have some really nice reds for under £4.
Fae xx
Did someone mention wine ?? Just wondering if I was imagining it or did I read that Mr T has 15% off wine bought in store?WantToBeSE wrote: »My 1st shop of November done today in Lidl, and spent £40.13.

Used to use Li*l all the time but agree with you and others that Al*i now much better. Seem cheaper, fresher and more choice. Only use Li*l for odd stuff as much closer to home and can walk.CountingPennies wrote: »Really pleased with that. I have one next door to my Mr T's (Home B's) but to be honest with you I always end up going in there and spending much more than I anticipated. Also, i buy too much treat stuff there. Not much in line of healthy options. Full 2 rows decicated to sweets!
I do get quite a bit from there in lines of other types of products tho
